My 1969 passenger side power window is very slow in traveling up and down. I am looking for some advice on fixing the problem.  I understand the car is old, but can you oil the mechanism in the door panel. Is is hard to take the door panel off ?  Thanks, Bob

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Do not know about your year but it really is not all that hard to take the door panels off on an 1982.

The big issue is all of the plastic is old and some of the fasteners will break when you take the door panels off.  If you do not have a paint and body supply shop close you may have to wait for parts before you can put them all back together.

To make my 82 door panels snug I cheated and put in a couple of self taping screws down low in the carpeted area.  The panels are nice and tight and you cannot find the screw heads easily.  If your car is going to be judged you of course would not want to do that.

Back to fixing the slow windows.  Cleaning up the tracks and greasing the rails should help.  The old window motors are much better than you can purchase now days.

I love my car! BUT! I know it's a 35 year old car. But it's my daily driver and it seems that something breaks or stops working every day. Today both windows stopped working. One in the down position and one half way. I looked at the fuses but none are listed as power windows. The power assc Fuse isn't blown. Does anyone have a suggestion where to look. Thanks

I believe there is a 35 amp circuit breaker for the power windows instead of a fuse. Did you check for power at the window switches yet?

I have t checked to see if there is power at the switches yet. Just got home from work. I'm getting ready to check. Where would the 35amp circuit breaker be? Thanks

I got it figured out. It was a blown fuse. Apparently the former owner just randomly switches out fuses and wires:) the 35 amp circuit breaker was replaced with a 25 amp fuse. Only makes it a little harder to find things. Thank you for the help again.

Glad you got it figured out. Thumbs Up
So did you replace the fuse with a circuit breaker?
