Does anyone know if the PC board behind the guages on 79 Corvette has a ground ? Is the ground built into the wiring plug assembly ? I don't remember taking one off.
I have put all back together, and pulled light switch to test instrument lights, and blew the 7.5 amp fuse.
I have headlights out problem also, and they were out before I hooked this all back up.
If anyone has an answer please advise, as this L82 is about to be re-born. |saluteflag| |cool|

It has to have a ground, or nothing on it will work. The blown fuse means something in the circuit is going directly to ground, instead of where it is supposed to go. My guess is the connector has some bent or damaged pins, and it's crossing the circuits. The headlights are seperate.

Thanks again Ken. I will start with process of elimination. I have a feeling about the plug for the PC board also. Radio works, heater/air control works, power windows work, the red lights, (low fuel, seatbelt), work. When I pull the light switch, then blows the 7.5 amp fuse. I put a couple of new plug in low amp lights in when I traded the instruments to the new bezel.
I would guess that it is in one of those lights at the PC board, or I messed up the plug in the back.
Thanks Ken,
