Has anyone had any experience with Radio Conversions (putting new solid-state guts in an old radio shell). These are made by a company called Antique Automobile Radio of Palm Harbor Florida. There are a number of companies around who install these in your old radio including Ecklers. What sounds neat about these conversions is that they have an input for your cd player, iPod or satellite radio.
I bought an original radio and my ’80 Vette is about 99% original and I want to keep it that way for NCRS etc judging. I also don’t like the styling of the new radios – they just don’t look right in a 25 year old car and I don’t want to cut or replace the bezel.
I went the Custom Autosound route and was most disappointed so I want to get some user feedback before I spend another $400.
Thanks,
