I just dropped the Vette off to get an the front end alignment and while I was drivin over I noticed the sound of my turn signals thru the speakers of the radio there also was a load buzzing noise. Turned off the radio and all was fine. Where in the bloddy hell do I start to look for the fix for this? I?s there some sortof crossed wire or something?
thanks,
Will

Have the RFI shields been removed from around the distributor or spark plug wires? They're in place to reduce such static. You could have the factory noise filters gone bad. That happens after time.
If the noise increases or decreases with rpm's, it's alternator whine. If it's constant, it's probably ignition noise. You can buy appropriate filters at electronics suppliers or auto stereo shops and install them yourself.

Well its a funny thing that I go to the auto parts to see about rep[lecin the capacitor for this issue and while there I find that there was a 2 lead capacitor mounted on the block by the distributor. This particular capacitor was wired in series with the batt feeede to the distributor, Is that correct or should it be in parallel. I can not find another 2 lead capacitor at local stores. Do I need a 2 lead or not? In doing this little project I also ended up stranded at the auto parts. It seems that a modual in the distributor burned up. So after about 3 hours of trouble shooting and standing in the rain We find that problem and start it up and get her home. So not I have the wires temporarily wirenuted together without a capacitor since the 2 lead one actually fell apart after it was removed. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Will

Turn signal noise thru the radio prolly means the capacitor for the turn signals is bad. You will usually see these connected around the fuse-box.
The capacitor for the alternator or ignition wouldn't cause the turn sigs to pop the radio, but would cause a whine noise from the radio that varies with engine rpm.
Don't know about locating the capacitors, but Radio Shack seems to be the place of choise for a lot of folks with the older Corvettes, as well as Lectric Limited.
Most two wire capacitors use one wire as a ground...not in series, but I could be wrong...
