Has anyone installed remote keyless entry (either the standard beep-beep type or the fancy new RFID, C6-style kind) on their C3? My "round" key is getting sort of bent from all of the lock/unlock cycles and I'd like to skip that hole "get the key in the lock at night without scratching the paint" thing.

Thanks, guys!

Corey

I had an alarm installed which included keyless enter, I love it and it serves two purposes, security and keyless entry.  It had a remote start feature but I decided to leave that off.  Also the doors automatically lock when driving off  Thumbs%20Up

Hey Corey;
I have purchased a keyless system and added (3) power outlets to my 82. (2) Drivers side, one Keyed the other constent power. I have not wired in the keyless yet. I am still working in replacing all the electrical parts in the drivers door. I will be wiring the keyless into the existing security harness. It is located behind the passenger seat and under the storage box. I can send your pictures of all of this. Good Luck, Tim

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
You can get it done locally, or do it yourself.   It is much easier if you already have power door locks.  If so, you can go to AutoZone, Murrys, etc and get a kit for about 40 or 50 bucks.  Install can be done in an afternoon.

I just got one for my MiniVan for my wife's benefit.  It is nice for me, but it really helps her.  I will put it in soon.

If you don't have power locks already, it is more difficult.   You must install more wires and lock actuators.   You can also get this done from custom shops or but a more expensive kit with the parts needed.

I do have factory power locks so I figured there should be a kit out there. I also know that it has a factory alarm (honks the horn if you try to unlock it from the inside). Didn't know if that would be difficult to override.

Thanks for the help!
Corey
