You're so lucky to have a '77, with the dimmer in the column!!...NOT!
It is a little time consuming, and tedious. You really need to have the factory shop manual, or other good tech manual if doing this the first time. It involves removing the s-wheel, and the turn sig switch.
I would make sure you need the lever part first. If the lever is ok, and it still has tension on it when you pull back on it, you might be able to replace the actual switch, and not have to dig into the column. The dimmer swich itself is on the lower part of the column, (on the outside) and there is a rod that runs from the lever, to the switch. The switch is easy to replace...the lever part, is a b%$#@.
btw....this is in the wrong forum!!Adams' Apple 38851.6516435185

Joel, Have I lost it or what? Switch=electrical=C3 electrical. I would think it's allowed here otherwise I would move it. BTW, I changed my switch by just laying on the floor and unbolting the two small fasteners the held it in and swiveled it off the rod.
