I have just picked up my 1973 Corvette Coupe with the L48 Engine and Manual Transmission. When driving the car, the reverse (Back Up) Lights stay on? Any suggestions as to why this would be hapening and posible quick solutions would be much appreciated.

Check your switch mounted on the left side of the transmission. You can adjust it by loosing the screws and rotating it a little. I that does not work it might be time for a new switch. I found the arm to be loose on my switch and adjusting it didn't solve the problem. So a switch replacement was in order.

Crawl underneath the car,and unplug the wire from the backup light switch on the tranny, see if the lights go out.if they do its the switch, that or the previous owner had a problem with the transmission switch and put one somewhere else like under the edge of the dash ,and didnt tell anybody and its still on,just a thought

Most likely a switch issue, or the linkage from the reverse lever has come un-hooked.
