just picked up a 1981, and one of the ground wires coming off the battery terminal is snipped.

not the main, thick cable, but the other one. looks like a 8awg or so, black cable. it's molded in with the thicker main black one.

can anyone help me with where that should be terminated, please??

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
In most of our cars, nowhere.   The negative cable goes under the body to the frame.  Other grounds on the car also go to the frame.  There is no ground through the body like most cars, it's fiberglass.
My guess is the cable was replaced with a somewhat universal cable from a parts store, and had the other lead in place.   If you had a different car with a steel body, the wire goes to a body ground near the battery.

Was pretty sure you had an aftermarket cable. My 81 only has the main battery ground and lug, no extra wires. Double checked the AIM and it only shows the main.

thats great info guys. didnt even consider the part to not be original. its LOOKS OEM, and definitely not new condition. thanks for checking the aim. i have one for an early C3,1970 i think. but dont want to rely on that being accurate for a 1981 car.
