Ok electrical guru's...I have a question on converting a 2 wire SI alternator to a new style 4 wire CS alternator.
I'm installing a GM serpentine kit on a friends '80 vette. (Which I'll never do again)
In the kit is a new CS alternator and a 4 wire plug in connector/pigtail.
All the wires on the pigtail are color coded in White.
There are no instruction in the kit for wiring.

The alternator connector on the vette is a 2 wire plug in connector. Wires are Red & White.
So what wires do I use and which don't I use? Or is there a simple plug in adaptor. I just don't want to fry anything.
Thanks in advance.

Any new pigtail, or wiring connector "repair kit" you get these days from GM has ALL white wires!
Sure makes it hard to repair lectrical stuff anymore...
Looks like John got ya fixed up, tho.

That link did help out quite a bit. Thanks.
I had to use a harness/connector from NAPA with a resistor built in. NAPA pn: EC82. The ohm's reading between the pos. batt. cable and the brown wire at the alternator was to low. So this direct plug in harness took care of the problem.
