Unfortunately my 1974 does not have a spare tire light so I can't be much more help to you. Hopefully someone with the light can be of some help to you.

Still no resolve?

All fuses are working / tested.

Anyone know anything about the: relay behind the glove box ?

Could that be blown out somehow by this? How could I get to it and test it.

Thank you.

The light under the rear is on the same circuit as the interior lights. There is a timer behind the glove box that's turns the lights off after a set time. If your interior lights work when you open the door and turn off after a while then that timer and that circuit is ok. The tire light should go on & off with the interior lights, if not then the bulb or the wires to that bulb are bad. Hope this helps.
