Hey guys,

I know that car audio is not really anyone's specialty here, but I figured maybe someone may know! I bought some 4x6" Rockford fosgate punch speakers for the dash. The tweeter isn;t the built-in nipple type. Its a full half inch extended tweeter.... so wehn I try to attach it to the metal bracket I cna;t screw it down becasue the tweeter gets in the way. How can I avoid this is there another great brand of speakers with a nipple tweeter I could use? Another thing is what is with the kick panels? Are there speakers in there? If so what size? And does anyone think I sould have any problems with the tweeter?

Thanks guys,
-Louis

Vette(s): 1981 - 59 Beige over Cinnebar leather. Edlebrock top end, 2200 stall w/shift kit, 3:55s, Mufflex maniback exhaust, nice stereo, 16 in AREs w/BFGs
The dash speakers on my 81 were a total pita.  I have either the Eclpise or Focal speaks in the dash.  Which ever had the thinner thickness I used.  They dropped right in.  Kevin.

I have Infinity Kappa's in my 74. The ones in the kick panel fit perfect, I had no trouble with installation. I put 2 in the dash, the 2 in the kickpanel, and 2 6X9's in the rear (home made deck) and they all sound fantastic. Good luck
