Vette(s): 1978 25th Silver Aniv. L82 4 speed
I have a 78 Silver Anniv., L82 4 speed, and the tack won't work
and the speedometer will only register up to 52 mph. The mileage
meter works and is fairly accurate but the trip meter won't work.
Has anyone had any experience with these type of problems and
where would you recommend sending them for repairs? Is it cheaper
to purchase a new tack and speedometer or have the original one
repaired? I would prefer keeping the original speedometer
because I want to have the actual mileage of the car registered
on it. Also how is the best way to remove the tack and
speedometer. |saluteflag|

I can only help with half your question cause I have never replaced either unit. If you have an Eckler's catalog handy, they offer both rebuilt units. They will also rebuild your unit. Prices are listed in the book. Good luck.
