This might be a dumb question but I just want to make sure.
After 3 months of re-building the engine and installing I'm up to putting the starter in and I don't remember how it was wired, there are 4 wires, 2 large connections and 2 small ones. Do I mount both large to the same terminal and both small to the small terminal?
Please help

Both of the larger terminals will go on the center post of the solenoid, along with the batt. cable. You should have a purple wire with a smaller terminal that will go on the solenoid post closest to the engine block.("driver side") I'm not 100% sure on the other wire you have. What color is the wire? I'll get my warin' diagram out & check it for you.
I'm-a thinking it's going to the coil, from the other post (pass. side), but I'll have to check to be sure.
I'm baaaack!
I checked the diagram, and you should have a yellow wire, and it does go to the smaller terminal on the outside position(pass. side) If you look at the end of the solenoid, you should see some letters by each terminal. The large term. in the center will be "B", for battery. The term. closest to the block should have an "S", for start(purple wire), and the other should have an "R"(yellow). It comes from the ign. switch, to the coil (as a 'resistor'), and then to the starter.(or versa-visa) This is for the '74. The '75 would not have a 'resistor' wire, due to it having the 'HEI' ign.
Hope this helps.
