I've just developed one of those problems out of nowhere. The car has been running perfectly. I drove it about 20 miles - got it good and hot - stopped and about 3 hours later, when it was well cooled off, it would not start. The symptoms were odd - when I turned the key, all lights on the dash panel came on but there was nothing going to the starter. Not even a click and the lights did not dim. I put a new battery in about 6 months ago so it's not a battery problem. I tried working the clutch to see if the switch was not connecting, but nothing happened.
We put a set of juper cables on it and it started. Funny thing is I don't think the jump had anything to do with getting it to start. It was as if just making the connection caused something to "connect" and it fired right off.
The next day I drove it again and when I shut it off it would not start about 15 minutes later. It sat for about 3 hours and I tried it again and it fired right off like there was never a problem.
Any ideas?
Jim

I had the same problem on mine a few weeks ago. The connections on the starter were loose. Guess it's from the engine shaking so much..I'll keep an eye on them now. Good Luck

Does it have an ignition module? Sometimes when they fail they act just as your are saying.

I had the same problem last weekend, same symptoms, even the horn worked. It turned out to be the horn relay.
On the side of the relay, there is a connection post with 6 positive connections on it. It had a little corrosion on it that appeared only to affect one of the connections, the starter.
It might not be the same setup on your car, but I’m sure someone here will chime in.

It's not the ignition module. That would not start but it would crank. This problem is a no crank.
You could have a bad starter or a connection problem. It's a matter of checking for power at several locations when it won't start.
Check both battery cables, neutral switch in an automatic or clutch switch. And as stated, any electrical connector that feed the starter circuit.
Sometimes jumping it will make a difference, even due to bad connections. The extra amperage can bridge a poor connection. But it may not be related.
