Vette(s): 1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Just bought it from my uncle who owned it since 1971. Fathom green, green interior. 350/300, T400.
I just bought this car from my uncle, he said the wiper motor quit working and he has a new one put on at a shop, but they couldn't get it to work. It has the 3 pronged plug going to it and the ground wire. I pulled the plug off, with the switch off 2 plugs beside each other light up with the test light when grounded. With the switch on low and high, only the center plug lights up. I'm guessing the switch is bad? What are your thoughts? P.S. I checked the fuse, it's OK and the cowl lifts up when the switch is on.
Thanks,
Matt

Had a similar problem not too long ago. Durign one of my trips into the dash I carelessly plugged the wiper switch connector in backwards (it's a flat triple spade connector. The tip-off was that everything else was working - wiper door opened and closed - and then if I pushed for the washer the wipers would cycle once. Try it! Just remove the wiper switch from the dash (4 screws) unplug it and reverse the plug. Re-install the switch assembly so that it grounds before you turn it on.

Hope this helps.

John

Decided to go for a ride sunday, while warming up I figure to check my wiper blades, hit the switch, nothing, what the &#!%$*@!,get the testers out,no voltage at the micro switch, what the &^*#! they worked two years ago, going for a ride worry about it later, close the hood, get in the car and just happen to look down at the OR switch, reach down turn it all the way clockwise, I'll be damned, they work |laugh|
