My tach is stuck on 900 rpms, when I first purchased my 76 I replaced the tach circuit board which did not fix the problem. I saw a tach filter in the ecklers catalog, could that be the problem and where is it located

When i shut the car off it only is 3500 or so.....mine is still faster than yours when it's shut off

I posted about how to fix a while ago so I'm sure if you do a search a few posts will come up. I have not bothered with it but maybe I'll get in to that this layup season.

There's a procedure to recalibrate or "zero" the needle on the tach after the tach board is replaced. Has to be done with the tach out of the dash. Sounds like next year's BBQ - or any other weekend you feel like coming by....

I am running my tach without the filter for quite some time and never had a problem.

Be careful and don't push too hard on the needle!!

I think the filter just keeps the tach needle from bouncing around with idle fluctuation like mine does with the cable drive..
