I have '75 T-top, automatic. Would like to know the route for the temperture wire from the sensor on block to the area in the engine compartment to the temp gauge. I have the wire in hand, but where does it go in fuse box area (engine side)? Does that make sense? All other gauges work fine, even the clock with a thump now and then.

I'm not sure I understand your question. The wire is a dark green, 18 gauge. It follows the rest of the wiring on the driver's side down to the firewall bulkhead connector. Shorting this wire to ground should peg the gauge. Often the sensors fail and it is tough to find accurate replacements. I think ZIP offers a replacement with an adjustable potentiometer to calibrate it to your gauge. Lectric Unlimited offers one they say is guaranted to be accurate. If grounding the wire does not peg the gauge you could have a defective (failed) gauge or a wire off someplace. Hope this helps.

Big Fish,

Thanks for responding.
You're right. Green, 18 gauge wire. Where does it go into the bulkhead? I don't see where it was sniped off down there. Is there a diagram out there some where. I do have a Chevorlet service manual, but no picture.
I looked into the Lectric Limited site. Some good things there.

Gene, looks like it's on the bottom row, 3rd from left. From the left there is a tan, then light blue, then the dark green from the temp sensor. It's on the diagram on page 12-107 of the 74 Chevy service manual. Hope this helps. You should be able to see the wire cut off at the connector.
