i have a temp switch (sensor) on the left head with one lead going to it and one on the right head with connectors for 2 leads but nothing going to it. the shop manual says this sensor should be on the right head in corvettes with it mounted on the left head on vehicles other than corvette. icannot find any leads that connect to the sensor on the right head. can any other 72 350 owners look to see what they have and where its mounted???. (found this when changing plugs)

On my '70 the temperature sender is on the left. One lead. You can test the lead by grounding it directly to the block and watching your temperature gauge - it should move all the way.

The two pronged unit screwed into the passenger side cylinder head was used to activate the auxiliary electric fans used on air conditioned corvettes if they had them.

Hi - I have a 70 and I think that it is the same as yours as far as the temp sensor on the right head. The sensor on the right head is the TCS temperator sensor. There is a harness with two leads that goes from the sensor to the TCS mounted on the right side of the intake just below the carb.
Thanks

Gary - Unfortunately, the engine is out of my car but I have a photo of my engine before it was removed showing the themo controlled spark solenoid and wiring. Please send me your email and I will send you the photo. It is definitely the TCS solenoid wiring if the wires coming from the temperature sensor on the right side of the block. The following is the part number from Lectric Limited for the 1972 TCS harness that goes from the temperature sensor to the TCS. Lectric Limited is on the web at www.lectriclimited.com.
VIG7074TCS $15.00 T.C.S. JUMPER HARNESS, all (from engine harness to temperature switch located in passenger side cylinder head)
I hope this helps.
Thanks
