Does anyone know the correct installation of the water temperature gauge for a 69? There is a small insulating washer, a ceramic bar insulator and a strip resistor and I can find no clear instructions on what goes where. I know where the wiring terminals go, but that's it. HELP!!!

I looked at our used parts.  Only one gauge still had the parts on it, but it had the ceramic going from the top to the bottom terminal, and the washer, then resistor on the right side as viewed from the back.

I couldn't find a reference to verify that, but it looks right.

Larry,

Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know if the assembly manual covers instrument gauge assembly at this level of detail?

The service manual should show the correct configuration, I think...
The description Larry provides does sound right, but I haven't looked at the back-side of early gauges in years, so I'm of no use with this one.
