Anyone ever replace their Turn Singal/Cruise Control switch? The one in my '79 is about to croak!
Two days ago, it wouldn't stay locked in the left-turn position. Today it does, but it is very difficult to move.
Do I need to replace the lever and the switch? Or just one of them? In either case, how hard is it to do?

I've replaced the stalk in my '77, but I don't have cruise, so....
However, this particular fix is covered very well in the Haynes manual that I have (it covers 68-82 Vettes). IIRC you can keep the stalk that you have and replace the switch. You're gonna have to remove the steering wheel and a few other things though. I'm not home with the book right now, but I'll look it up tonite when I get home.

No you don't.
In the ''Tool'' Section..there is a way to replace the turn signal level.
Here it is.
Turn Signal Lever Replacement - Submitted by: LakotasRose
BEFORE I pulled the old one out....I attached a very thin piece of floral wire to the plug end (there is a teeny tiny hole in the plastic)and drew that up thru (NOTE: make sure the wire is LONG enough to pull thru the column ..my advice..twice the length of the column)...then attached the end to the NEW piece AND gently pulled it back down thru!! Piece of cake!!!!! One thing...make sure the column is is a straight position and not tilted up or down..makes it alot easier!
