i put the flasher from the hazards that i knew was working and it still didn't work. is there a ground under the dash some where or could it be a broken wire that is in the plastic covering. what color are the wires? its probably something stupid like a loose wire or connector under the dash.

Jose ?? Do you hava a shop manual for your 79 ??? When this problem gets figured out then we can move on to the next one. I'm still researching !!!!

i feel the same way, i cant move forward until i fix this. read the shop manual last nite, the shop manual states to "replace flasher, flasher is located behind dash near steering column" is there a second flasher for the turn lights? my 73 Camaro has two flashers for the turn lights. when i read about the hazard lights it said "replace flasher, flasher is located in fuse panel" this mentions the haz flasher in the fuse panel, but says the turn flasher is behind dash near steering column. doesnt say to replace the one in the fuse panel.
found this on and old post.

it shows a flasher next to the anti theft flasher. could that be a second flasher?

I see three flashers on that diagram:
1. Hazard Flasher
2. Anti-theft Flasher
3. Directional Flasher.

On my 79, one of my flashers is over by the glovebox.

reading the manual, it says. if turn signal fuse is OK and hazard warning system will operate lamps, replace defective turn signal flasher. defective flasher( located behind instrument panel near steering column).
in a different section it says, the turn signal flasher is mounted to the instrument panel lower lip in a clip bracket. is there a second turn flasher? my 73 camaro has two.
