My right turn indicator has stopped working for the second time in 10 days. The first time the front grill amber light was out and I replaced and everthing worked fine until this evening. When the headlights are on the right turn green dash indicator light is on as a solid green. Any attempt to turn on the right turn signal only makes the green interior light slightly brighter, and none of the exterior turn indicators "flash". The flash does not work with headlights off either, but the green interior indicator light is off. I did notice that while I drove it the green idicator light would intermittently go off-but again any attempt to select the right turn signal (with headlights on), only causes the green indicator light to come on and stay illuminated.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Barry

This is a long shot but its easy and quick to check. I just had a similiar problem on my wife's '97 Toyota (hey we can't both drive the vette!). In her case she noticed that her dash lit up during the daytime whenever she hit the brakes.
The 1157 dual filament bulbs that are used for brake and turn signals have two contacts on the bottom of the bulb, one for each filament, the socket is the common or ground. It turned out that one of the brake light bulbs had those two contacts flatten & spread out enough that they touched each other and power from the brake lights was feeding backward to the entire parking light system. As soon as I removed the defective bulb everything worked normally. I suspect that in your case you may have power bleeding from your parking lights to the right turnsignal circuit which is lighting all of the bulbs in that circuit. Try removing each of the right turn signal bulbs (one at a time) and see if the sytem works normally. Also inspect the sockets to make sure that there is no way that current can flow between those two contacts. As far as I know the only place the turn signal and headlight/park light systems come close to being in contact with each other is at the bulb sockets.
By the way, the heat from one brake light socket providing current to every bulb in the parking light system melted the socket in my wife's Toyota. I wish I had found the problem sooner!!!
Good luck.

I definately need the wiring diagram so I would much appreciate it if you would forward to my e-mail.
I have only had the car about a month but I noticed the car doing the same thing about 2 weeks ago and the right front indicator bulb was out. I repalced that bulb and it worked fine until yesterday-but this time the bulb is working. When I select the right turn indicator the the green internal indicator light comes on but does not flash and it will not turn off after I switch the signal back to standby. I noticed last night that if I drove it for awhile it would go off, but then come back on by itself.

OK-I'm a complete idiot. I put the bulb that I replaced last week in backwards. Took it out and reinserted properly and it works fine. Thanks everybody!

Too bad it was not really the fix. It did the same thing the necxt time I drove it. I think that I have a ground problem in the socket. I will probably replace the socket instead of trying to track down the problem.

I really did fix it this time. There was a bad connection in the connector for the light socket. It was not actually in the socket, but instead in the connector clamp that the socket and pig tail plug in to. One of the female plugs had lost it's ability to clamp down ont the male conector. I could not find a new female plug anywhere so I just worked with it to make it have a tighter fit. Problem solved-for now.
Thanks for everybodys help!
