Hi Robert,
If memory serves me, I had the same problem with my 82.  My then Vette tech swapped the emergency flasher relay and the turn signal relay as his first step in the trouble shooting tree.  The turn signals worked ok.  So, he replaced the relay and I drove away into the sunset.....

Let me know how that works out.  I've been using Rock Auto for my small parts needs.  They are pretty fast and the small stuff comes in the mail.  Their site is easy to use and communication has been very good.

I live 20 miles outside of Tucson and commonly hit 50-60 mile round trip from a day trip into town.  So, running into town for a couple of small parts is really not cost effective.

Did you paint your front bumper or is it a replacement?  Also, the paint on my 82's rear window trim was getting ratty so, I used steel wool and got the paint off of it and it is chrome "looking" underneath.

Certainly sounds like a Flasher problem...

And...it looks like a bra on the front of the car to me...

i switched the flasher and it worked . had a great day took a ride out to seaside,nj and the pine lands great country roads. the more i drive it the better it gets...
it's a bra on the front it was on it when i bought it the guy before me bumped the nose and chipped it so until i get the replacement it hides the cracks pretty good. ill probly do that over the winter.

That is great Bobby.  Glad to hear you had her out today turning heads.  My Baby is all black excepting the door hardware and where the t tops mate to the body. I like having a bit of shinie near the back. My paint was rubbed off in many places and I thought I'd paint it black but, it looked good and less to do is good too.

It is mud season here so Baby stayed inside today.

The flasher relays are pretty cheap.  Glad to hear it was a good fix... Check out the Body Forum for tips on the nose job.  You just gotta love people.  They always point out my scratch on the left headlight top.

All the best.
