Once again, John at Red Line Gauge came through for me. Took three gauges to him today and he fixed them while I waited. Reasonable price, professional and knowledgeable service and repaired today. Incredible and much better than Roger. Thanks, John.

That's good to know, John! I'm glad it worked out for you! It's always nice when someone delivers more than expected!

What gauges and what did he charge? I just had mine done by corvette instrument and paid $238 for speedo rebuild, new faces on tach and new needles.........

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

I've had 2 speedos done by Roger. Price was right, but both failed (you get what you pay for). I wasn't going to do it again, so I just bought a brand new speedo from MAM last year. Hate to say it Rook, but I paid less for new than you did for reconditioned.
Now I need to figure out how to set the odometer...
So where is this "Red Line" vendor you mentioned? Does he take things via mail? How are the prices? You never know when another one is going to go!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
The 238 broke down like this. The speedo was 175 (rebuild and reface) plus 9 bucks for the needle.......he repaired my trip odometer too which was the main problem.
the tach face is new 35 bucks plus 19 for a tach needle....
I was a bit surprised at the price because my initial call to Roger made it sound like everything was going to about a hundred bucks...He kinda had me over a barrel because he couldn't get me the exact quote until he had the parts in hand.
I thought I did my homework on this by asking questions and searching the archives......Lesson learned.
I have to wait and see how everything works once I get it all back which should be any day now.....hopefully it wasn't money wasted......
