removed the glove box for cleaning and detailing. found an orange box with the number 463498 on it and the word TOP below it it has a white connector on the bottom white a white, orange, black, and white wire going to the connector. in that order in a single row. the wires are coming out of the factory harness. the orange box is a little bigger then a box on wooden matches, it opens and inside is a curcuit board, what is it?

I believe what you are describing is the courtesy light delay timer. It's either that, or the windshield wiper delay module. Don't know when they moved it from the fusebox, tho, but it may have been late '78. Someone else will know for sure.

YUp, When I took out my glove box to repair lock, I saw the same thing. Dave is correct. On the 1981 it is the Time delay for the interior lights. Not sure if it is the same for the 1979 or not.
