Vette(s): 1968 Conv, 454HO,500HP-600TQ, TKO-600,3:70 HD rear,hotrod air, custom paint & suspension,1973 Ruby Red,T-top, 383 Stroker, TK)-500,frame off restro, 1967 Dodge Coronet, 340 stroker to 406, Dana 60

I used to have a  1978 Chevy p/u with dual tanks which had a solenoid for the tanks. I went to the local parts store & purchased a new one and blocked off one end of the outlets. I installed on/off switch in the bottom of the seat belt center console and stuff some tissues on top (nobody wants to touch a wrinkled tissue). The switch is painted the same as the car interior so it is almost invisible anyway. When the switch is down I have 12V to the solenoid & up no power ( easy to remember). I mounted the solenoid on the drivers side as low as possible next to the frame. Put in a large fram filter after the solenoid. The car will go about 1/8 mile before it goes dry & because of the large fram filter it's a bitch to start because of the manual fuel pump. Sometimes I forget to turn it on but if you're quick & flip the switch you just continue on...   Any other questions send me an e-mail

I had a 'Lojack' system installed in mine, it's a small tracking device that
the cops can turn on by entering your VIN number in the system. They
have a 90% recovery record, the missing 10% is due to fire (insurance
arson?) and smuggled cars on ships (I guess the car wasn't reported
missing for a few days/weeks? Anyway, it was about $750. total
installed and there is no further fee or monthly charges and best of all,
the insurance will drop just by having Lojack. I had a blinking light put in
for the 'looky-loos". When they installed Lojack they wouldn't even allow
ME to know where it is, so it must be hard for the pro to 1) know if one is
installed, and 2) know where to look. No mater what you decide, do it
soon!

I saw the artical in corvette fever. I'm thinking of a triple approach. A good alarm system, a solenoid, and a moroso disconnect. I will just have to figure out where to hide the switches for the solenoid and the disconnect.

That, and my Dan Wesson 44 should be enough

Here in Oz I have two alarm systems, they are both big and have four legs each and big pointy teeth.  Anyone goes near any of my cars, I know about it.

Also, not many around here know where the battery is on a Vette so I just disconnect it.

Hey CHIPS58

How are the TAXES ?   Friday was not exactly my favorite day
since our Taxes were due and I am still recovering ...bye bye ZZ4
if you know what I mean

The no speed limits is an attraction BUT NOT as much as the endless summer...

2 Months ago I would have been willing to drive at the legal speed limits  just for one single day with a temp of close to 40 degrees ..
