The horns on an 82 are not in the center between the headlights as in some earlier models.  My 82 isn't a CE but I think the horns would be in the same place on them.  My horns are located in an absolutely inaccessible area between the headlight assemblies and the fenders. I have a horn on each side in the same relative location.  I was going to take a pic of the  area but after sliding half way down my driveway on the ice from this weeks storm I decided that pics would have to wait.  Get a good light and probe around in that area from under the car, I think you will locate your horns.  If you find a way to access them let me know.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Finally found my horns I think.  They are located in the headlight area.  The bracket is mounted against the compartment wall that separated the headlight compartment from the engine compartment.  The horns are mounted on the outside of the bracket towards the outside of the car.  This makes them almost impossible to see and with my hands impossible to really touch.  I Could not get my fingers around far enough to actually feel the front of the horn but could see the round side of it.  There are two of them one on each side.  There is a black ground wire connected to each bracket.  I have a .pdf of the location but need some help on how the best way is to post the pdf.   I would recommend that you purchase the Assembly Manual from Corvette America.  It is a pain to use because of how it is indexed.  But it has saved me a couple of times and it is what I used to find the horn location.

Chip (Crossfire1982) was posting when I was.  He is correct.  I do not have snow or ice but could not figure out how to get a picture of the area and it would be impossible remove them without taking the front of your car apart.  All I can say is if my horns ever give out I will not be replacing them with OEMs.  Not interested in pulling the front of the car off to replace horns.

Thanks guys.  Crossfire, I know what you mean about the ice and snow.  You are not far from me.

I'll look tomorrow to see if I can find them.  The wires I have may not even go there but I'm not sure where two wires that look like grounds would be attached.  I'll take some pictures tomorrow and try to post.  I have a pit so it is easily to get under the car.

I purchased the CD you are talking about.  Way too hard to find anything but looks like it has a lot of good information.

OK - figured out the large eyelet wires go to the horns.  Don't want to have to change these as they are tucked deep in the fender.  Looks like you have to remove a plastic shield to get to them.

Still do not know where the black with a connector and the black w/red or orange stripe goes.  I think the striped wire goes to the hood vent solenoid.  Not sure about the black wire.  Are there two wires connected to the solenoid?

The wires that go into the steering column is a three connector that someone has attached a different type connector to and then cut the wires gone into the column.  Any ideas at to what these are?  The green must be the horn but I have not check this yet.

Figured out the hard way I can only post one picture.  I can send you a picture of the connector if you send me your e-mail or tell me how I can get another picture on the site.

Resize the pics...they are waaay to large! That will prolly solve the problem. There is no limit on how many you can post, but there is a size limit that the site will accept.

The horn control wire is black coming from the steering column. From there it goes to the Theft Deterrent module, where it then goes to the horn relay, still as a black wire. From the horn relay, the wire color going TO the horn(s) changes to dark green.

Need more info on the wire colors.
Could the "brown" wire actually be Tan with a white stripe?
Dark Green or light green?
Dark blue or light blue?
I saved the pics, and enlarged them, but I can't really determine the actual colors...for instance, I don't see a green wire in the larger of the two pics with you holding the wires.
The size of the white connector there makes me think this is the cruise control connector...and the wire colors for the cruise control switch ARE blue-brown-black...

The wires for the hood door solenoid are the black w/orange stripe, and the black. The solenoid needs two wires to work...one is power, the other is ground.
