Yes, yes, yes I know where it should be or at least where the assembly manual says they should be but they're not there. As I look around I see one on the passenger side maybe 2 inches from the exterior wall of the fender. It's in line with the actuator but way to the outside. Difficult to see, I can see the ground and can feel the horn outlet but that's it. Anyone else have a horn in this local? I thought that maybe it was changed by the previous owner but it I can't see why anyone would go through the trouble of putting it here.

Ta da, you've found the hidden horns!
That's where mine are and a real pain to get to.

No problem at all Darryl. It's good to see that my misery and confusion can make, not only my kids but others entertained!

Is that horn by the fender for the alarm? My red 80 has them up by the headlights.

Ebo, If you look at the assembly manual for my 81 it shows the horns near the center of the nose. In actuality they are to the outside of the passenger headlight actuator, very close to the fender wall. You can barely see half of one, just past the bracket that it is attached to, and if you are able to get your hand on it you can feel it and almost convince yourself that it is indeed the horn.

Ya they are there in the 81 also. You gotta be a contortionist to get to them!!
The horn for the alarm system DOES require a contortionist. It's above the muffler on the driver side. Next to impossible to see and more impossible to service without a hack saw for removing the muffler.
Is there any other way to get to that horn? Mine... of course... does not work.

Easy to get to with the motor out! The red vette is getting new chassis paint so I've been in there cleaning and making a "while your at it list"
