Vette(s): 82 crossfire
Once again I call upon the tech crew here @ C3 .
82 vette. Still trying to figure out my wiper delima.
When switch is engaged no wiper action in any range.
I was looking @ the connection @ motor and was probing the wires while still connected to motor with a test light to ground. with motor on and switch engage I touched the connector with the test light (back probing) and the wiper functioned I did this several times and confirmed the motor was not the problem.
Do you think the switch is the culprit or a bad ground some where?
I am having problems finding a switch for the 82 with the delay feature, I was on training recently in the United States and visited auto stores in las vegas/ vacaville ca even the dealers they cant get it. Mid america dont carry it/ebay doesnt.
Can I use a switch with out the delay feature? Any other year vette could work. Does any have a switch they can sell me? ( I should have posted this on the want section sorry).
Thanks
You guys and gals should be designing the next vette going into production!!

If I understand correctly what you did, it sounds like you grounded the wiper, which caused it to run.  That should indicate a bad ground.

Larry,
There is a 3 wire connector to the motor,I was touching the wires right as it enters the connector @the hrness side. This is while its connected to the motor. Is the ground (bad) @ the switch or the motor. The gound wire @ the motor still looks connected. I have read post here that I shouls ground the switch I will try this.

Thanks

Hi Franklin,

I wanna say that the motor should be grounded. Sometimes after 30 years or so things move around a little and contact isn't quite what it used to be.

I also looked at BLAIRS and found a switch listed. I found it with the search criteria being 1982 wiper delay switch. Just as a note it shows it for 78-82 so that might improve your search at other places if you broaden the available years.

Good Luck                                 Tux...
