Hey gang!  I ordered a replacement for the wiper override switch; when I took the old one out, I thought I saved the nut that is used to mount it under the dash.  Well, I can't found it and am having a hell of a time getting one to match the thread pattern.  I've tried auto part stores, home depot, lowes etc.  Nothing matches.  Ecklers and such don't list it.  Anyone have any idea who might have one?

Thanks!!

Only thing I can think of is a stereo shop, maybe...might be the same thread as some of the older radio shafts.
I can't believe the new switch wouldn't come with one.

That's not a bad idea.  I'll stop at my local audio repair shop this weekend.

Thanks for the idea.

just a thought hereLamp. the nut might be metric. i know on some of the older stereos that i installed that they had metric nuts on the shaft and if it appears to be that as joel said you might want to check for metric

Good thought, but there were no metric threads on a 72...none until 77-78. Now, the replacement switch may be a different story. I couldn't see them making a repro that had metric threads, but...stranger things have happened.
I think you're gonna find they are SAE fine thread, but just a weird pitch...I wish I had one handy...I could check.

Joel; I appreciate you taking a peek.  I'm going to stop by the corvette repair shop (Corvette Connection, Bohemia NY) here by me, they did my power steering conversion.   Maybe he has one laying around.  It's odd that the switch is sold without a nut.  I even purchased another new one from Corvette America, which shows a nut with the switch, but of course no nut arrives.

Well, I went down to the corvette shop and ordered the nut.
Big whopping $1.00.
I ordered 2, just in case.
Another problem solved.
Thanks
Rob

Mine was missing when I bought the car.  I went to a salvage yard with the new switch and founf  the correct nut on a car radio from the 50's. No charge.
