Hey guys,

I'm a tad bit confused. I'm not sure if it is ok what I am doing. Or what to do.

I have like a knock-off of a MSD Pro-billet Ready to run distributor. It is made by crane cams, it does the smae thing, all the numbers match, ect.. I bought an official MSD blaster SS coil. My questions are:

A) Would it be ok to add a mallory hyfire ignition, or sohuld I just get the MSD 6AL for the extra $120?

B) I wanted yellow spark plug wires, but I wanted ones above 8MM. I was looking at some taylor wires at a race shop. THye are $300 they are 10.4MM race spiral core wires. Should I even bother? Or should I just get the MSD 8.5MM super conductivity wires for $79?

C) Dewitts keeps saying that my $420 dual spal kit will arive soon, they keep saying their parts vendor will deliever the parts. Should I just cnacle the order that has not yet been filled, and get this bad boy: http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=partdetail. asp&Ntt=electric+fan&N=4294838842+400001+4294901060+ 4294902503+4294868635&part=BCI%2D75007&autoview=sku& amp;Ntk=KeywordSearch Summit part number: BCI-75007

You dont need that thick of wires for your motor. 10.4 mm are for Top fuel engines. I dont think you motor has that serious of a spark to merit the cost. You should be fine with the 8.5mm wires. As for mixing brands for ignition components, I think you can get away with it but if it was my car I would just stick to one brand for everything. As for the fans, I said earlier that using untested or unproven fans for the vette, you could get burned bad. The spals from dewitts have been installed in many C-3s and many people here have them in their cars. I would be paitent and wait for the proven stuff to come in rather than go through the hell I went through of spending all kinds of time and money only go back to stock mechanicals because the fans would not cool enough. I'd go with the 6AL. Wait for the good fans

It's always better to match your ignition system.  Mis-matched stuff can cause a lot of problems, even when all of the individual parts are good.
