Hey guys, I need some help here.
I am looking to get the kit that summit sells, the "Ready-to-Run" distributor. It also comes with the Blaster SS coil. I am also going to be using BOSCH platinum 2 spark plugs. I don't see where I can keep the old wires since they are probably all corroded, and old, and provide not a very good park. I was also thinking of the MSD 6AL ignition. Should I get new MSD wires? Or get new stock ones? IF so can anyone point me in the right direction using either Summit Racing, or Ecklers? Also can anyone point me in the direction of some cool looking gauges for my '77?

Thanks
-Louis

I used A/C delco wires on my engine, they work fine. I bought them at the local car parts store. Some are alittle too long then I like but if you want you can get a tailor made set to fit better. 8mm is about what you should need. I think it would be over kill to go too big. For some cool looking gauges look at this previous forum:http://www.c3vr.com/vrforums/message_go.asp?MID=55460

I got all my stuff from Jeg's. Very happy with them, and they will also talk you through everything on the phone.
I used MSD with everything on my car and have loved it.

I have used both taylor spiro pro and msd wires.. I like them both.. The taylors are custom fit.. ie you have to put one end on them and they are kind of a pain..

but its easy to make your engine look nice that way..

well after all that:
I decided to take a look on JC whitney:
http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=5118&catalogId=10101&storeId=10101&langId=-1&TID=8014524
I found 'cyberdyne' guages they are cheaper like $39.99 per cluster guage VS $89.88 per cluster guage. Their spedomiter, and techomiter are about the same as Nordskog, however do I have to get new sending uints? I also decided on these wires:
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=MSD%2D30479&N=100&Ntk=PartSearch&Ntt=MSD%2D30479

The way I figure it I will need:

Electronic LED Digital Voltmeter Gauge Each ZX470257A $39.99

Electronic LED Digital Water Temperature Gauge Each ZX470265U $39.99

Electronic LED Digital Fuel Gauge for 1958 - 2001 GM Vehicles Each ZX470259X $39.99

Electronic LED Digital Oil Pressure Gauge Each ZX470258R $39.99

Electronic LED Digital Speedometer with Odometer & Trip Odometer Each ZX470275T $149.99

Electronic LED Digital Tachometer Each ZX470276A $129.99

Oil Pressure Gauge Sender Each ZX470270U $24.99

Speedometer with Odometer & Trip Odometer Sender for Chrysler & GM Vehicles Each ZX128990P $24.99

Water,Oil Transmission Temperature Gauge Sender Each ZX470271B $14.99

Total: $504.91 + S/H

As for the clock I can pay my dads friend to amke it, he is a techno god (more than I am) he is also going to build me an anti-teft system with a beeper. Sounds funny but he said what hes going to do is hook the beebper up to the ignition wires and this way when I call it and type in kill the engine will not turn back on even if you hot wire it, the only way to start the engine back up is to: 1)call the beeper and type live, or start. 2)Find the pager and cut the wires, and then re-attach. Option 2 is worthless you would have to take the whole engine apart to find it, and thats even if youc an figure out why it won't hot wire, a beeper is a very rare anti-theft device (ha-ha)
Does anyone have a good cable managment system? I want to do this:

YOu see how hes got them on the sides of the heads?

This setup is norskog and the reason I went with norskog is because of the bar graphs. I couldn't find any other brand that had bar graphs on the speedo and tach. Although the interior isn't finished I'm very happy with this setup. Unfortunatly I dont have this stuff together enough to fire the motor so the bar graphs (in green) aren't lit up.

The other neat part of the Norskog is the fact that they give you 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times and are fully programmable for no stock tires, and I think my tires are a little bigger than stock |biggrin|

The norskog is a little more but I got really lucky.
I was asking the peeps that bought them on ebay how they liked them and 1 guy said he never installed them. I offered to buy them and he said how bout $300 shipping included. He next day aired them to me and they were still in the sealed static bags + he gave me all the modified sending units. I haven't had to buy anything extra.
