I need wiring schematics for 77 starter and neutral safety switch. I have the haynes manuals but they don't seem to have exactly what I need.

There is a yellow wire from the ignition switch to the neutral safety switch (automatic) or clutch switch (stick). From there is a purple wire to the small "S" terminal on the starter solonoid. If you have another wire with a small eyelet it goes to the other small terminal on the soloniod. The positive battery cable goes to the large starter solonoid lug. The other wires at the positive lug are the fusiable links going to the wires feeding the fuse box and ignition switch, and alternator "batt" lead (terminal where the hot lead bolts to the rear of the alternator). Fairly straight forward. These are the same color codes and routing that GM has used for years, and in many models.

I don't know what the heck I was thinking. I cut out the neutral safety switch when I took out my automatic transmission. I check those wire 5 times to see if I got 12v when I turned the key. The other end was not grounded so I would not get a reading. When I take the yellow to ground I get 12v. Thanks so much for your help.
