i'll try to make this short...
ok, i swapped my motor a couple months ago. since then my wipers stopped working and my fuse for my interior lights blew.
i can hear the washer pump click when i push the washer switch and then the pump got REALLY hot last night. i unhooked the wiring to it and it cooled.
also, i was checking the fuse panel with a test light and the tab marked "bat" is dead now. before the motor swap, it was hot (i had my horn pushbuttoned and wired into that tab)
any ideas why my "bat" terminal is dead? and why my washer pump seems to be getting backfed?
there was in fact a wire that had always been hanging near the starter but never hooked up. after the swap, i just wrapped it and tied it back.
it was suggested that maybe it was a ground and needed to be attached to the bell housing. well, i looked at this wire more closely last night and it's NOT a ground. it's a red wire that is wrapped in fabric.
any thoughts/suggestions?
sorry so long.....
thanks,
jeff

If the red wire has a large eyelet at the end near the starter then try attaching it to the large (3/8 dia) post on your starter motor. I just got help for the guys on the wiring hookup for my starter on the 76. See posts under engine and look for ZZ4 starter wiring connection question.

Correction: look in the electrical section on page 2 for member replys on the starter wiring connections.

To elaborate on the good advice above... Think of every electrical connection you had apart, and recheck that you didn't get a wire on a wrong terminal. I assume you got the wiring diagram from Warbird.
