I'm hoping someone can give me like a trouble spot to look or something. I just bought the car on Friday, at first the brake lights were always on, fixed that, the switch needed adjusting. Now, the brake lights work fine... sort of....
If the headlights are off the brake lights function, but the dash lights come on when I step on the brakes. If the lights are on, the brake lights don't get brighter. PLEASE HELP!!!! |saluteflag|

Also just noticed, with the lights off, hitting the brakes also turns on the front turn signals

Just gussing but sounds like your pitching a wire with the brake peddle,I would check under the dash to make sure every thing is clear and plugged in tight.

I was just poking around under the dash and found a yellow and a brown wire in the main harness melted together, I think this might be the problem. I'll have to break out the trusty multimeter and find out. I'll keep you all posted.

Anyone buying a new vette should check all fuses in the fusebox to see that the correct fuses are there. I did not and paid the price with burned wires in the dash. Some people will put in whatever they have not thinking of the damage an incorrect fuse can cause.

The Clifford alarm system was the wiring problem with our 78. It was shorting out the battery and draining it of power. so we had to have it totally taken out. what a mess of wires! |cheers|
