So, I got it Thursday night!
It is pretty damn cool!
I bought the Sony DRN-XM01C Car Kit.
It comes with the receiver, antenna, remote & cassette adapter. There is different kit that comes with an FM modulator instead of the cassette adapter.
I got the Cassette one so I can bring it in the house and plug it into my stereo in the house.
The sound is great! The reception (at least in my neck of the woods) is 99%. The channel selections are very good. I especially like the "Deep Tracks" channel that plays great classic rock you never hear on the radio! Also, the play whole albums sometimes. For instance, today they played all of the new "Echoes" album from Pink Floyd!
I highly recommend this purchase to all. You can find the system at Crutchfield http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-eGv9dItsz0f/ProdView.asp?a=0&s=0&g=69000&id=other_items&i=158XM01C, among other places. All seem to have it for exactly the same price.

Yes. $9.99/month.
Well worth it!
I have listened to FM about 1% of the time and XM 99% of the time since the day I bought it! I can't get enough of it!
Highly recommended!
Two Thumbs Up! |jumpy|

I drove my wife's car yeterday, which does not have XM in it.

I gotta tell ya, it was painful!!

A) The FM stations are all staticy
B) If I didn't know what song and/or artist was on, I had no way to find out!

I've gotten so spoiled with XM's clarity and the fact that I can see the name of the artist and song that is currently playing! FM is just so, blah, anymore!

Where do you put the receiver? In the dash or in a box behind the seats? |idea|

Actually, it's really small and portable!

In my truck I just have the receiver stuffed in between the passenger front seat and the center console. I tucked the antenna cable under the molding of the console, and out the passenger front door, behind the weatherstripping, and have the antenna on the roof.

The output of the receiver is just send through a cassette adapter to my in dash stereo.

It works great!

Here's a link to Cructhfiled with all the product info.

So really it is just another source for your existing stereo, it does not include a power unit? Joe

I've wondered about this for some time now and hope that one of you can answer this question. How is it broadcast? Are there stations per say? Can you use it with your current car unit? What about playing CD's? Gotta go check out that site later and thanks for the link!
