At one end of the 1/2 shaft is a flanged yolk which bolts(4 each) to the back side of the axle/trailing arm assembly.I have removed them for restoration and notice they are slightly curved.I have a feeling they shouldn't be.Am I correct. Is it possible they beny when I pressed out the U-joint?

They shouldn't have a curve to them, but...most of the ones I've seen over the years seem to have a slight bow in them. Don't know if it's an optical illusion, or if they are actually bent, tho...
They can be tweaked if the u-joint replacement isn't done properly, but this usually makes it really hard to get the clips back in the grooves, or it leaves a little room between the clips and the cups.

Him Joel, These have that slight bow you mention. There was a person on one of the websites showing a steel jig/pattern he had made to hold these yolk pcs. straight while working on them. The bow thingy must be common.Time to make a jig, bolt the yolk down snug and put a little heat to it. Thanks for the reply,Mikey

Be very carefull with the flange! They are real easy to bend I just bubba'd one up last night.
That and the U-joint was a $60 lesson I learned last night when I put the u-joint in the wrong way and the flange was hitting the zirc fitting.
