Hey guys,
I was wondering if 14 in rally rims will fit on a 77 vette? I know it came stock with 15's but wanted to see if anyone knew of any fitment issues with the 14's, do they clear calipers, etc..etc..
Thanks in advance...

I would think you will have clearance problems with the rear parking brakes and the spring ends. Those seem to give most folks fits when changing wheels. If anything you should be going the other way (16/17/18) with a lower profile tire. 14s will leave a lot of open space in the wheel wells.

I don't think the 14's were native on many vehicles of that era. Maybe the Vega wore them but other than that not much. (Except for that 64 Chevy Flat Glass I had....)

A 14" rim will NOT clear the calipers, front or rear...
15" rims are tight.

Thanks guys for all the replys.
I was thinking about 14 in ralleys because I found a set with tires for cheap. I bought my 77 vette and it has some after market 18's on it that I don't like. I plan on replacing them with the Aluminum slotted vette rims or the ralleys and was just wondering on the 14 in sizing.
Thanks again..

Your right Jim, the Vega actually had 13's on it. There were alot of 60-70's vehicles with 14's on them.
It seems bigger is better in the world of wheels. I wouldn't consider placing 14's on a vette. I believe it would be trouble and even though it may seem like a good deal there would surely be heartache and discomfort with that decision to follow.
Don't forget about the Camaro, Nova, and Chevelle. Some of those base models ran 14' wheels.
