I good friend of mine with a 68 is looking to put 8 inch wheels on his car with 225/70/15 tires. Has anyone had any issues with rubbing? (emer brake in rear) I know the 68 + 69's didn't have the flared fenders like the 70+ did. Any 68's out there please chime in.
Thanks,
Tom

For all intents and purposes the '68 is the same as the '69, which is when Chevy began putting 8" wide wheels on the Vette. I don't see any problems, though a P215/70R-15 may fit with less chance of rubbing. That's what I have on my '69, though others run P225's with no problems.
8" wheels are correct. Believe they had F70-15 tires - which is now P225-70R15. Should be no problem. I'm running P235-60R15 on my '70 with no problem either.tricer 38496.8066666667
I've got a 68 , but my fenders are flared. I have 15" 8" rims on the rear & 7" on the front. 255/60/15 on the frt & 275/60/15 on the rear with stock trailing arms & the break cable is not moved. I have the fiber leaf spring & had to go to 10" bolts to get the rear down.
