Topic: 68 traction bar ????

on my 68 conv. there is a peice that has tabs welded to the crossmember in front of rear end two peices then bolt to them and the rear end and extend past to the spring plate, what is this ? the welds on the front tabs look nice like factory the peice has been on the a long time if not original please help if you can i cant find anything on the web

There were some traction bars that looked like what you describe, but they weren't factory installed...unless you happen to have a "factory" racer.
I may have some pics of what the bar looked like. I'll see if I can dig them up. Do you have any pics of what you have, and could you post them if you do?
btw...Motion Performance used these type bars on a lot of their cars...

thanks for the trouble but it does not look like that it acually bolts to the rear end housing and frame not to spring mount ill try and post pics im going to my shop this afternoon ill take them then thanks again im trying to get the car drivable to go to vette fest in effingham it wont e pretty but i hope to drive it there. if you go mabe we can meet up and you can see it in person thanks again
