Hey guys....Is the (Ghymkhana) a "flatter" spring by nature of having 2 leaves less or is there no difference? The P.O. (PIA) replaced the rear with a stock 9-leaf spring and I don't know if the stiff front and mushy rear will upset the car. It's also sitting a little high in the back (reason for my original question). I was hoping the addition of the 7-leaf and longer bolts could remedy this. I always heard monosprings also contributed to higher ride height, if not, that would be my 1st choice. There is a good 4 inches of wheel well showing in the rear.

The 7-leaf spring was the HD set-up, and the reason for fewer leafs was that they were a thicker cross-section (per leaf) than the standard 9-leaf set-up. There really shouldn't be any difference in the ride height of the two, as far as 'factory' equipment. Most of the aftermarket, and even some of the service parts made the cars sit higher than normal. Either of the spring set-ups should be pretty much flat (looking from the rear) with the wheels on the ground. Sounds like you're gonna need the longer bolts to get it back down where it should be. I don't think mixing a stiff front and mushy rear is a good idea. Can you say "SURPRISE" ?!!

Thanks for your input! I know what you mean.....I hate surprises! I forgot to mention a body mount issue possibly contributing to a higher ride height. It's really frustrating not knowing the previous history of a car. The body must have been off at one time since the incorrect body mounts were used when laying it back down. Up until '73, I believe, a thin ceramic mount had been used....these are thick rubber and appear rather new, at that. They probably account for a least an inch.
