Well I'm in the process of putting the body back on and playing with the shims and I've noticed that the front end seems to be sitting high (my perspective) I've had the body off for several months though so it might just be me.Big%20smile
But I've been wondering all this time though how much difference the aluminum heads and new headers affect the front ride height? I have yet to get the radiator, coolant and AC on it but it's something that's been in the back of my head during the project.
Also when I take it in to get the 4 wheel alingment can the front height be changed at all? Everything on the suspension is new, (Bilsteins sport shocks) except the springs front and rear and everythings just snug to save the the alingment guy some work. I know it's an easy fix with some shorter springs up front, just curious if anyone else has come across this.
Thanks!!

Happy New Year!

Leave it be...once you get everything back in/on it, and run it around some, the front will settle back down. If you haven't changed the springs, it'll take a little time for it to settle back to normal ride height.

I agree with Joel. I went through this when I changed the rear spring. It looked high to my untrained eye.

Last weekend I put on new Monroe gassmatic shocks all the way around and felt the same way again. After about 20 miles on the car it has settled down.

I would measure the current height from wheel to fender lip as a later reference point if necessary and keep and eye on it. I think you will find that it will be okay with some time.

I put new springs, front and rear (rear steel) on mine.  It took a while for them to settle in.  I was surprised that the front springs were actually shorter than factory (I used 300#) and still had a very pronounced rise in the front end.

I just recently put a new steel rear spring on and had the same problem.  It took the trip to Bowling Green and back to get it to settle and I still think it is high, even though a tape measure doesn't lie.

Tux is right.  Take the measurement because your brain will keep kicking you in the butt without the proof of the measurement.

This is not a case of new spring fever...just a chassis that has been sitting with no weight on it for a while.
It will settle.

Thanks everyone, nice to have a reality checkThumbs%20Up! I was really working myself up over the weight difference with new engine, but it makes total sense that it will settle with time.
Sorry if I confused yall, the springs were good all around, the rear had been replaced at some point by the PO so I just spruced it up with some paint, cushions and had it re-banded. The stock front coils were powder coated. Everything else was replaced, control arm bushings, steering etc and that's what I was wondering about was any ride height adjustments at those points. I can't wait to bug the heck out of the guy doing the alingment with all my rookie questions LOL

Regarding rookie questions, those are the best.

Thanks for asking.
And don't forget to get the yard stick out when you get her back together.
