Rick's post about his noise reminded me to post this...
When I am going about 5 MPH or less, along side a cement median (great for sound reflection) I hear what I'll describe as a rubbing sound that occurs faster or slower as the car moves faster or slower.
Here's the catch... when I put even the slightest pressure on the brakes, the noise stops.
Any thoughts?

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.

I think that the disc brakes are making the noise. nothing to worry about. The pads rub on the disc and makes the rubbing noise.

I agree, that is typical of most GM models. I just hate the screeching noise they make when the wear bar starts to touch.
