I am looking for drilled rotors for my 80 vette. I have noticed alot of them on ebay,are these good for my car?. I am not going to race I just want something better then stock I also see some with a large price. what is the best bang for my buck? does anyone know a good price on power coated red calipers for 80 vette want a little better then stock. Not trying to pay for name but best bang for my buck

I think I may have to try some. For some reason I never looked on ebay for them. I found some on Muskegon brake for about $120 each, but I was holding off because I didn't want to spend $480 on rotors right now. Anybody have any experience with rotors from ebay? Recommend a seller?
As for powder coated red calipers, I know VBandP.com and Vansteel.com each offer powder coated calipers. If you want to save some cash and your calipers are fine for now, then I'd try the epoxy paint from Advance Auto. I know someone who used it on a C5 and its held up very well.

Most of the past posts on this subject indicated that the majority of folks here believe in spending a little more on good quality brake components. After all, going fast is great but stopping fast is better.

So true. A friend of mine bought a set of "cheap" drilled rotors for his Trans Am. Well, after a few months of use they developed noticeable cracks around each hole and were basically worthless (and unsafe). I've installed a set of Baer crossdrilled and slotted rotors and they perform head and shoulders above stock. They aren't cheap, but definitely worth the extra cost.
Most of the Corvette parts houses (Eckler's, Mid-America, Corvette America, etc.) carry several brands of aftermarket rotors.

If You are going to Use the Brakes real hard as in Autocross and or Road Racing You can exspect the Cross Drilled Rotors to Crack. Dosn't matter who made it or Sold it just Consider it a Fact of Raceing. Thats why there have been a lot of Slotted Rotors put on the Market. If Your not going to run the Car hard then they will probably hold up Ok but then why do You need them. Sometimes You just can't Win. I'd check with VB and P as they have about every Option including C5 Brake Options. Keep in Mind that the C3's had about the best Brakes of any Car out there in its Day and untill the Latest C6 Z06 with its 6 Piston Calipers very Few Production Cars have had 4 Piston Brakes at all Four Corners.Richard...
