I plan on installing BIG 20" TorqThrustII look-a-likes for show and would like to get some advice. I researched the specs on the big wheels and did a compare to the specs on the stock slot alloys and got this data:

.................STOCK.......AFTERMARKET
--------------------------------------------
Diameter...........15”..........20”
Width.............. 8”.......... 8”
Backspacing........ 4”.......... 4”
Offset............. 0 .........-11mm
Tire Size.......255/60-15.....255/35-20
Tire Diameter......27”..........27”

The numbers indicate that everything is pretty much the same including the overall tire diameter and width. The only difference is the -11mm (-.43") in offset on the 20" rims.

Since I will be ordering these wheels online, I would like to hear any comments whether or not you think this would work.

Thanks!!
RON

Groovy Jay,

How does your Vette ride with those 20's? I have 15 x 10s on now and I a wanted a more updated look.

It rides great, I would never want a corvette that handles like old BUICK (rubber bushings, lot of tire wall etc). The ride is not too extreme, I have the suspension settings in second hardest. |cheers|

I REALLY LIKE THE LOOK ON THE LARGER RIMS.
I HAVE AN 81 AND I'D LIKE TO GO WITH A 17X8 WITH 250X55 TIRES.
IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON WHAT WILL WORK SO I'M TURNING TO YOU FOR HELP.
WILL THIS SIZE FIT WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATIONS?

ANY HELP / INPUT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

THANKS,
MIKE
