I agree with Dave. Use a good line wrench to tighten your fittings down. A regular open end may round off the hex shape of the fitting.

Agreed. Dont' use sealer on the threads. Keep in mind the threads going to the line don't seal anything. They just keep the lines pushed against the flare on the line. The threads into the caliper are tapered, and create a very good seal due to the taper. I do recommend coating the outside of the fittings with a thin layer of brake lube to prevent them from seizing later. Do that to the bleeders as well. Don't coat the lines themselves.
