The last couple of times I've driven the car,I've noticed that the brakes seem to be loosing boost. By that I mean when applying the brakes it feels as though there is no power assist. I know this requires vacuum for the power assist, but were would be a good place to begin? Do not want any problems when heading to BG next week.

Start with a couple of checks, make sure the vacuum hoses are in decent shape and sealing to the port on the intake and booster, 2nd, there is a check valve between the booster and intake port, test it to be sure it isn't leaking back.

Power brake bosters can, over time, fail like any other component. If the diaphram has failed you may be able to hear a hissing sound at the boster at idle.

I agree... if you dont hear any hissing sound its probably not the booster..

id check for a vaccum leak..

Finally got a chance to check the power brake booster and sure enough it's hissing like a snake. Went online to check my usual parts sources and got somewhat surprised. The fisrt 2 I checked $160.00 + shipping. Then I went to Autozone $85.00 + $4.75 shipping. So I thought for a microsecond and put in the order.

While I was there ended up ordering new rotors/calipers for my full size van as well. Those things just eat brakes. Need to change them about every 12-15 months.
