Hello friends of the wave - doing a suspension rebuild over the winter on my '80 - would love to add a set of "adjustable" chrome shocks but I having a terrible time locating any.  If any of you have suggextions for a manufacturer or distributor please clue me in.  Am also looking for chrome coil springs but I am beginning to think I just may have to get these done at a Michigan chromer as these are difficult to locate as well.

Chrome plateing is great for a Show Car not to be driven but Not for Most Suspension Parts. You will be looking a Long Time for a Set of Springs. If You do find a Pair then the First Time You Compress them to install them the Chrome will Fleak off as Chrome dosn't bend. As most Suspension Parts are Heat Treaded the Chroming Process will Change and or remove the Process. I have a Custom 69 that has never been driven since Customised some 20 Years ago and one of the reasons I know it hasn't been driven is because they Plated the Sway Bars and its still on there. Here is an alternative. http://www.alsacorp.com ,or you can just "Google" (chrome paint) There are a couple more companies that carry chrome paint/systems.

Awhile ago I was watching a "car" program and they showed this new "chrome paint" called "MirraChrome" They sprayed a "Nerf" football with it and squeezed it. The finish was not affected. Looked like a mirror. This stuff it supposed to be pretty durable too. At $1200 a gallon it ought to be. They do sell it in smaller sizes too.
