Vette(s): 1972 conv., sunfire yellow, blk interior, blk vinyl and convertible top. Off frame restoration with American Speed 383 stroker engine producing 500hp plus a 200hp NOS system. MSD ignition. Hooker super competition headers with chambered exhaust.

Thanks for the tips guys. Rather than relinquish any of the handling capabilities of the car I'll simply work around the oil changing problem. Besides, that wasn't nearly as embarrassing as having to get some guys to help push me off a local restaurant's driveway entrance after "bottoming out" on it.

Man this thing must sit on the ground. I have my car as low as any around and never hung it up,scrapped a few speed bumps maybe but never hunger up-----well there was that one time in the boat but thats anouther story. I'd have someone look to see if there isn't something a miss in the suspention. That is if they can get it on a hoist.

I think were all in the same boat. Fortunatelly I have 4 garages, the one I use for the vett is 45 feet deep 22 feet wide, because of it's size I was able to build a ramp system. I took 2x12's cut them in 1/2 on an angle, need 3 per section for strength. Need to put a few pieces in between as ribs. Took 3/4 plywood 4x8 cut them in half screwed it all together. That took care of the ramps. Did the same for the platforms, just didn't cut the 2x12's in half. I have everything marked and spaced so when I pull into the garage I just go right up onto the ramp. Have tons of room to work underneath. If I decide to move them I just stack them on top of each other on the side of the garage Takes up 2 feet x 12 feet worth of space.

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.

Hey Jack,

Want to post some pics of that ramp system?  Sounds like just what I want to use in my pole barn, not only for working clearance, but winter storage as well.

Thanks
