Quick question, how do I know if my coil springs are bad?

Every time you compress a spring it loses some rebound.
Springs are cheap and easy to change, they go a way over time,I'm sure you will notice the difference in ride and handeling with 25 year newer springs! Change the shocks at the same time to make the most of your spring change.

one warning.. if you change spring strength..

watch out for the 550 lbs springs... they lower your front ride height about an inch and will seriously hamper any attempts to use larger tires..

Do they smell bad? |laugh| Are they squishy ? |laugh| If all else fails, talk to Santa, he knows if they're bad or good! |haha| |haha|
If the car has been bottoming out easily, that's a good indicator. If you've got the susp. apart, see if the frt. spring coils have any shiny areas where they may have been touching. If you replace, watch out for the spring rates. Some of them are WAAAY too stout!! |thumb| |hammer| |wavey|
